Gerard Brown
Chief Instructor
In 2003, I enlisted into the United States Marines and began training in the martial sciences on Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina. Being that my occupational specialty was of an infantryman and security forces guard, I took training very seriously. I graduated from the School of Infantry East Coast at the top of my class and was meritoriously promoted for my performance and grades. I was given orders to the Marine Corps Security Forces school where I continued my training in physical and tactical skills training. To further my skills, I trained and obtained a black belt in the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP) and sought to earn anything that would improve my tradecraft. In 2007 I left the Marine Corps and joined the US Navy, and became a Master At Arms. While in the navy I continued to seek out training that would better my team along with myself. I became a Naval instructor and was placed as my unit's training nco continued to see out training to enhance my knowledge of martial skill. I began training in Danzan Ryu Jujitsu and Kodokan judo in 2009. I was promoted to 1st-degree black belt in 2012 under Sensei Lance Adams in Danzan Ryu Jujitsu and under Dr. Ronald Charles I was promoted to 3rd-degree black belt in self-defense jujitsu and a 1st degree Brown Belt in the (USJA) United States Judo Association. In 2015 I desired to serve in another capacity, so I joined the police force and became a police officer, and continued my tenure of service this time to my community. As an officer, I still seek out training in order to find new ways improve to the life of all those I come in contact with. Training and teaching to me is how we carry on tradition and make a more knowledgeable and better people and with that said I leave you with this quote “We don't rise to the level of our expectations, we fall to the level of our training.” ― Archilochus
